The coolest piece of dystopian tech I have seen, yet. A digital out-of-home advertising screen with cameras for attention awareness. 🤯
While strolling through Shenzhen, I came across this ad TV screen with a commercial of Phillip's Chinese New Year edition hair dryer. But, notice the black dots? These are sensors/cameras that count faces that have looked at the ad. 🥹
I believe that this is the dream of every marketeer who does offline marketing. Finally, you can see the performance of your offline ads.🤩
Focus Media, which makes these screens is the largest offline advertising provider in China. They cover 400 million residents and have up to 700 million daily impressions. If you have been in an elevator in China you've probably seen one of their displays. 👀
According to their site, this particular display features:
4G Network, Facial Recognition, Wi-Fi access, iBeacon, Apple Pay, and other features enabling display-mobile interactions. 💪
