Trent: has launched a new lab-grown diamond brand ‘Pome’ in Westside stores.
SpiceJet: will add 10 planes to its fleet by 15 November. 7 aircrafts will be on lease, and 3 grounded planes will be re-added.
Tata Motors: global wholesales fell 11% to 3,04,189 units in the July-Sept quarter. Passenger vehicle sales fell 6% to 1,30,753 units. Commercial vehicle sales fell 19% to 86,133 units.
Ola Electric: has received a show cause notice from the Central Consumer Protection Authority for an alleged violation of consumer rights, misleading advertisement, and unfair trade practices.
Embassy REIT: has raised Rs 2,000 crore through a debt issue with a 7.95% interest rate. The money will be used to repay non-convertible debentures maturing in October.
Bank Nifty tracks 12 large Indian banking stocks and provides a benchmark for their performance.
Nifty Bank is an index, similar to Nifty 50 and Sensex.
Some stocks include HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and SBI.
It was launched in 2003.
It uses the free float market capitalization method.
But, what is that?
Free float market capitalization method considers only publicly tradable shares, excluding those held by insiders or promoters.
As of today (8 Oct, 2024), Bank Nifty stands at 51,021 points — up by 1.07% in a day.
Many loans can be taken using assets as collateral.
When you buy a car, you are using that car itself as the collateral. Same with homes.
But, the below loans can be taken with separate collaterals.
Loan against property: you can get a loan against any property you might own (residential or commercial).
The money from such a loan may be used for business or personal uses.
Loan against gold: similarly, you can get a loan using physical gold (jewellery or gold coins, biscuits, bricks, etc).
The money received in this case can also be used for business or personal purposes.

The mutual fund does not calculate this tax or deduct it.
This is because the tax calculation depends on your other investments also (other mutual funds, stocks, etc).
Let's say two people, person A and person B, both invested Rs 10,00,000 each in a mutual fund.
Now, both of them withdraw Rs 7,00,000 each.
It is possible that both of them owe a different amount of tax. This depends on the other the investments they had made.
Say person A also withdrew from another mutual fund. But person B did not.
In such a case, the overall tax will be different in both their cases.
This is why mutual funds cannot automatically calculate and deduct investor's tax.
You can also get the capital gains tax reports from the investment platforms you are using.
